Olive Chapel

This little gem sits on a corner.  It's always well cared for and lovely.

The congregation has been a might force for Good since before 1853.
This church house property was purchased in 1923.

Olive Chapel North-ish side

The property sits tight on a corner, with a curve road on it's North-ish side designed for traffic to by-pass the trains.

There's a small home tucked towards the back, perhaps where pastor lives.
I've seen young people tending the grounds - which look charming all year.
Trying to show the front is a challenge.  So, I opted to tilt the camera and fit it in the frame.

The Bug Store

Sun was coming up on The Bug Store.
Downtown Kirkwood, Missouri seems like a quaint village.
Many shops are housed in re-purposed buildings.

Yes, things are left out like this 24/7.

The shop is full of colorful stuff.
Art, Items to wear, or decorate your home.

There's a Kid section.
They also have garden experts . . .
They have a weekly radio program . . . and once a year they give away cookies
with buggy creatures in them.
Yes, I've seen them.
No!  i haven;t wanted to try them.

Walk Report

I want to tell you about our adventure.
We went to "Emmenegger."
I've visited twice.
It's a great place to walk your mom,  if you're lucky enough to have one.

You get to cross a bridge.
There's a smooth walkway at the beginning that circle eights around.
It's especially good for people in wheel chairs and people who prefer smooth walking.

Can you see it?
Watch for these little sticks,
They direct towards the trails.
Trails go up, around, over, sometimes under . . .
They can take you high up on bluffs
so you can see across the Meramec River
Or across a Big Highways waaay down below.

There's watery places . .

Forest -y places . .

Steep Places . .

Under, Over, or Around Places . .

AND - Places we should not go . . .

Look again . . .
There are trees not connected to the ground and the earth is cracking away . . .

There's dry creek beds, that sometimes fill with water and overflow -
Because we are close to a big river.
We could walk across here - BUT, we didn't want to.

When we cross that going home bridge,
Mom remembered to take a picture.
  Just a tame creek today . .
BUT, when there's a LOT of rain . . . water will stretch all the way across . . .
Mom says that's why the bridge is up really high.

We visit this County Park often.
 It's BIG.
Just about every time we find a different path.
Even if we choose a hike we already know, it will seem all new.
This adventure was about a month ago.

We walked past that bridge . . .

Mom will let me sniff when we get to those trees.

No one lives in that old house anymore.
Sure looks like a good place . . . a pup could have this entire park to explore.

Mom collects pictures of benches.
I stand still for the camera . . . Mom stands still when I'm sniffing.

'til next time,
The Pupster
